East Brent Church of England First School

Travel Policy Summary

The pupils, parents and staff at this school are committed to promoting travel to and from school by safe and sustainable means.  We are working hard both to promote the health and social benefits this brings and to work with outside agencies to achieve the targets we have set.  Adoption of our school travel plan demonstrates:-

The key points of the travel policy are summarised below.

Walking and cycling

Children should walk or cycle school whenever possible.

Walking register

If you live in East Brent and would like to find out if there is another parent who might take turns with you to walk your children to or from school, please ask Mrs Currie.

Car-sharing

The school has a car-sharing register.  If you would like to find out if there is another parent who might car-share with you, please ask Mrs Currie.

Safe parking

If you drive to school, please use the cemetery car park.  There are also a few parking spaces available in Red House Road.  These are safer places to park than in Church Road and there is a pleasant, short walk between the car park and the school.
