Bags
to school: Each child
will be bringing home a bag from the Bags to School scheme. There is a leaflet with the bag suggesting
what can be put into the bags. This is a
good way of fundraising and Spring Cleaning at the same time. If you need more bags please collect them
from the office. The bags need to be
returned to school on Friday 25th May at 3.15 pm.
www.eastbrentfirstschool.co.uk Please check the school web site for copies
of newsletters and the school profile.
There are also photographs of various activities that the children have
taken part in.
The next PTA meeting is on Thursday, 24th
May at 8 pm in school, please come along if you have any ideas or are willing
to help in any way.
Wednesday PE Club:
Now that we have the field we are able to offer this club to
everyone. Miss Evans is keen to start
rounders and cricket matches. If your child/children would like to join please
complete the slip below.
Summer
Production: Mrs Bowkett
and Mrs Plummer and the music club have begun rehearsals for our summer
production of Rats based on the Pied Piper of Hamelin. The dates of the production will be July 17th
and 18th. If you have any material that could be used for making
costumes for our summer production Mrs Holmes would be very grateful.
Breakfast
Club: is growing
and we now have 16 children on the register; it can be used on a weekly or odd
days basis, please see Mrs Holmes or Mrs Karen Wright for more details.
Our neighbours are very concerned about the childrens
behaviour in and around the church yard, they are worried about children
running around the gravestones not only from the danger point of view but also
from the respect aspect. Also children
have been seen climbing the big tree next to the school this is also very
dangerous and totally inappropriate, so please keep your children on the path
as they walk through the church yard.
Confirmation: We are very blessed to have 2 children,
Harrison & Tom, who are preparing for confirmation from this school. The confirmation service is at St. Marys
Church, East Brent on 14th May at 7 pm; please pray for them as they take this
important step forward in their faith.
Mrs
Steadys recorders, guitars and keyboard lessons resume on Monday, 14th May (because
Thursday Year 3 and 4 are out).
Please find attached parental questionnaire; it is
important to us that we regularly gather your thoughts and observations of the
school. We are continually striving to
improve the school in all aspects and we welcome your support. Please add any comments to the sheet that
will help the school to develop. We
would particularly like your comments on the format of the Leavers Service.
The Gallery Singers will be performing at St. Marys
Church on Friday 18th May, they will be accompanied by a small
orchestra; the tickets are £5 and available from Kathryn Quinnell on 01278
7600013.
Vouchers:
Tesco are giving double vouchers this week as it is
their last week. We are still collecting Sainsbury Active Kids, Persil stars
& Nestle Box Tops as well. Please send them all in to the office. Thank
you.
