Healthy Schools Mark:  I am very pleased to report that our school has achieved the Healthy Schools Mark, which recognises the many aspects of work that we do with children to support their health and well being. A big thank you goes to Mrs Bowkett who put together all the evidence that was needed to achieve this award.

Year 4 Residential Trip to The Beacon Centre was fantastic.  The centre was well equipped; the food was delicious; the instructors were well trained and fun to work with; the weather was kind; and the children were brilliant.  They were willing to try all the new activities, they challenged themselves, they made new friends and their behaviour & manners were excellent.  Mrs Wright and I really enjoyed the trip and we were so impressed with the centre that we have booked it for next year.

Ms Hare was really pleased with her Year 3’s who enjoyed their activities last week and were also very well behaved and a pleasure to be with.

Friendship Friday:  On Friday, 25th May we will be celebrating Friendship Friday by joining with Lympsham First School & Brent Knoll Primary School and climbing to the top of The Knoll.  We will leave school around 11 am & climb The Knoll. A short service will be held by Father Martin and then we will make one big circle to see how far round The Knoll we can reach.  We will then have a picnic lunch and return to school around 2 pm.  We are tieing this in with our Promise to Africa Appeal & would ask that the children have a mufti day and bring in a contribution for the Appeal. Also the School Council & Year 4’s are going to bring in cakes to sell to our school and Lympsham with the proceeds also going to the Appeal.  Please watch the weather forecast and send in the appropriate clothing ie wellies and raincoat or old shoes/trainers and sun hat.  The children will carry their packed lunches in their back packs.  If there are any parents who would like to join us please let us know.

Bags to school:  A reminder that the bags need to be brought into school on Friday 25th May at 3.15 pm, there are a few bags still available from the office.

Student Support:  Please find attached some information from Student Support. The school does not endorse this product in any way, but we do get a donation from the company for distributing the letters and the numbers of replies that they receive.

PTA:  The next meeting is Thursday, 7th June at 8 pm in school, when we will be finalising the details for the Field Launch on Friday 6th July, please come along to this meeting if you have any ideas or are willing to help in any way.

Class Photos: will take place on Wednesday 6th June, therefore there will be no church assembly that day.

Cheddar Cluster Community Learning Partnership:  Our school is part of the Cheddar Cluster/CLP. This consists of a group of schools working together in order to extend the range of learning opportunities. On behalf of Cheddar Cluster we enclose a questionnaire which we would be grateful if you could fill in as much as you can and return it to the school asap. Cheddar CLP is hoping to assist with the improvement of local facilities /activities which will benefit both children & adults living in the Cheddar area. By filling in the form you will be giving them important information as to what facilities/activities you would most like to see.
