Newsletter Number 20                                      Wednesday, 11th July 2007

Official Opening of the school field:  Many, many thanks to everyone who came and made this event such a fun evening.  We were really lucky with the weather, it was good to see so many families there and to welcome our new families whose children will be starting with us in September.  These events don’t happen without a lot of hard work by a lot of people, too many to mention by name, but our thanks go to every single person who helped in any way.  Special thanks must go to Mrs Liz Smith who led the organisation of the event.  One balloon has already been returned from Holland!

Results:  I am attaching a summary of the Key Stage 1 Teacher Assessments, we are pleased to share these assessments as they show that despite small cohorts we are continuing to maintain and improve the numbers of children achieving at, or above, the nationally expected level.

Rats:  Our summer production will take place on Tuesday,17th and Wednesday, 18th July starting at 6.30 pm.  Children taking part in the production should arrive in school at 6 pm. We have involved all the children in this production, they have designed and painted the set; made the props; breakfast club made the masks; they have designed the programmes, posters and the tickets.  We would like all families to feel that they have contributed to this performance and are welcome to come.   Entrance is by ticket only & they will need to be collected from the school office.  Tickets will be allocated 2 to each family, we will then compile a list of families who would like extra tickets and allocate them later. There will be a collection at the end of each performance to cover some of the costs and the remaining money will be given to the Promise to Africa appeal.  Mr Gosling has agreed to produce a DVD of the performance, if you would prefer for your child not to be filmed please let me know.  Copies of the DVD will be available from the office in the autumn term.

Thursday Club:  Will meet for the last time this term on 12th July.
