Photos:  A reminder that school photos will be taken on Monday 20th November, younger brothers and sisters can attend from 8.30 am.

 

Animal Farm:  Callum Bashford won a colouring competition at Animal Farm during half term and besides the prize that he had for himself and his family the PTA have been given £150.  Many thanks to Animal Farm for their generosity.

 

Mr Patrick Barber has donated £220 to the PTA, this was the amount he raised by providing treatments for parents.  Many thanks for his hard work & generous donation.

 

Christmas Fayre

Saturday 25th November 2006

 

Please send in any contributions for the   Chocolate Tombola;     Cake Stall;    Toys, Books and Video stall;     White Elephant stall.

 

Also if you have any dark coloured drapes or sheeting that could be used to black out Santa’s Grotto please could you send it in as soon as possible.  This year Santa’s Grotto is going to be a ‘Magical Experience’.

 

The Christmas Fayre starts at 11 am, so please support this event as it marks the beginning of Christmas for us.  There will be lots to buy;  lots for the children to do with arts and crafts, games, lucky dip and Father Christmas to visit;  Hot Dogs and Refreshments.     Please come along and bring your family and friends.

 

Recorders:  There are some spaces still available in the recorder groups, so if your child would like to learn to play the recorder please complete the slip overleaf.  If you would like more information on this please contact me or Mrs Rowena Steady

 

Kilve Court Weekend courses for Years 3 and 4:  If you are interested in courses for your children please collect a leaflet from the office.  If you would like to know more about the courses please ask me.  Henry and Tom went on a maths weekend recently and they will happily tell you all about their experience.

The half term quiz was won by Mrs Bronwen Payne, the answers to the quiz were:  spinach; leek;  plum;  pumpkin;  lemon;  cos;  carrot;  cauliflower;  peaches;  bananas; apple;  tangerine;  durian;  strawberry;  broccoli;  coconuts;  lime;  nut;  kiwi;  blueberry;  grapes;  sweetcorn;  mandarin;  cherries;  sprout;  courgette;  orange;  cabbage;  onions;  bean.  The quiz raised £87, our thanks go to Mrs Trudi Jenkins for setting the quiz and to Brent House and Mr David Colls for donating the prizes.

 

Thank you to Mr Bellingham, Rooksbridge Post Office who audits our school accounts for us. He donated his fees to our Cheddar Valley Fundraising Partnership.

 

Footpath:  I have received assurances from Property Services at County that the footpath will be fenced off from the playground when the field is fenced.
